Fire Extinguisher Use

The law requires all persons with responsibility in a Fire Safety Plan to have fire safety and hazard awareness training in addition to training in their specific duties. Quality professional training increases people’s ability to manage difficult situations when called upon.

Course Overview

Among all the safety problems an employee can encounter, fire can be the most frightening. Every year fires cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damage and result in thousands of employee injuries, a number of which are fatal. Yet many of these catastrophes could have been prevented if the fire had been extinguished before it started to spread.

Using a powerful combination of audio, full-motion video, text, and colorful graphics, this online Fire Extinguisher Use course looks at why things burn, reviews the types of fire extinguishers that are found in facilities today, and discusses how to use fire extinguishers to fight small fires. It’s divided into topic-based lessons so information is easily understood and retained.
